ARCHIVED NEWSLETTERSeptember 2008
Welcome a new board member: We are pleased to have Kay Hansen rejoin the board and represent Area 1. Kay is a long-time resident and is serving a second term on the board. Around the Neighborhood: We have received several notifications of vandalism in our neighborhood. One neighbor found a bag in his yard containing numerous watches, pearls and other jewelry. These items have been turned over to the Burnsville Police. Lock your doors, keep your eyes open and call the police if you see a problem or notice strangers just hanging around. The Burnsville Police can be reached for non-emergency calls at 952-895-4600; all emergency’s use 911. The board would like to reactivate the “Neighborhood Watch Program” in our area but your support and participation are required. Anyone who is interested in making our neighborhood a safer place please contact David Schlichting at 952-926-6515. 2008 Election Dates: Primary Election – Tuesday, September 9, General Election – Tuesday, November 4. For voter registration, polling place and other information visit www.burnsville.org/elections or call the Elections Hotline at 952-895-4433. July 10th Storm Clean-Up Crew: Thanks to the following homeowners: Ray Koonce, Patty and Bob Thaden, David Schlichting, Steve McKeon, Tom Roth, Judy Theis and anyone else we may have missed! This group of volunteers saved the association several hundred dollars by getting the damaged trees in our Commons area cut and moved to the curb so that the City could pick up the debris at no cost to our association. National Night Out: A big success again this year. At least two dozen homeowners and their children showed up. Two Burnsville police officers stopped by with their canine unit and put on a great demonstration of their dog, Striker, in action. A big thank you to all who brought 258 lbs. of food for our local CAC food shelf. Check out the photo gallery on our website prepared by Mike Phenicie. Email Address: Thanks for your response. To date we have 33 homeowners!! who are now on our email distribution list. The board would like to more effectively distribute our Newsletter and other information via email.
