ARCHIVED NEWSLETTERJuly 2008
Welcome to a new homeowner: Richard Tucker and family at 3309 Red Oak Circle North. National Night Out is Tuesday August 5, 2008 at 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. in the commons area: The Board Members will be serving ice cream and cookies. Please bring a non-perishable food item. All food donations are given to Community Action Council here in Burnsville. We will also hold a short Association meeting at 7:00 p.m. and invite all homeowners and families to attend. Our Neighbor: You may have noticed some noise and dust in the air. Mary, Mother of the Church is renovating and have apologized for this unavoidable nuisance. Their plan is to redesign the entire campus; work should be completed this fall. The Farmers Market has relocated to the Burnsville Senior Campus this year but will be back at Mary Mother next year. Website Information: Please take a look at the website. http://riverwoods.info Watch for events such as the National Night Out, Fall Clean Up and the Holiday Luminaries in December. We have also provided many useful information links for those new to our community. Check out our schools, churches, government, newspapers, utilities, etc. Email Address: The board would like to more effectively distribute our Newsletter and other information via email. In this manner, the recent storm which downed several trees in our commons area would have allowed us to more efficiently recruit and co-ordinate cleanup activity. We, of course, can only do this if we have your email address. Please be assured that this information will be confidential to Riverwoods Homes Association and will be used only for association business. Please send your email address to Suzanne Schanno (sschanno@comcast.net) or Bob Theis (bobtheis@comcast.net). Thank you for your cooperation. Braking for People: State law requires drivers to yield right of way to pedestrians in the marked cross-walk In our neighborhood that is the cross-walk leading to Red Oak Park from our main entrance, and at an intersection where there are no marked crosswalks. Drivers must remain stopped until the pedestrian has passed the lane in which the vehicle is stopped. The city of Burnsville will embark on an education program regarding this law and will enforce the cross-walk law. Outside storage of garbage/yard waste containers: Just a reminder that all trash and refuse containers must be stored inside of the garage (Article XI, Section 5) Next board meeting: Monday July 28, 2008 at Bob Theis’ home at 3300 Red Oak Circle North. Remember, all homeowners are welcome to attend. |
